Message for Dedicated as Missionaries

Message for those who dedicated themselves as Missionaries
in Celebration for the Nations 2011

Come, my beloved, let us go out into the fields!
(Song of Songs 7:11)

This is the Bride’s invitation to her Lord.  Song of Songs seems to me a love song in which the Bride becomes more and more dedicated to her Beloved.  At the beginning of the song he has to coax her to come with him out onto the hills.  She is reluctant to leave the comfort and security of her mothers house.  However by this stage in the song, she has grown in her ardour and her maturity.  She begins to understand his heart, so she even dares to take the initiative.  She invites him, come, let’s go and minister together to those who have yet to hear of your love.

I believe this is what many of you did as you responded to your Beloved in Celebration for the Nations. This initiative that is born of love for Jesus and what is on his heart, is very precious to him.
He is longing for a Bride that will feel as he feels for the world.  He longs for us to come into the place that he has prepared for us; a place of authority and servanthood, a place of victory yet of costliness.

He sees us, his Bride, awesome as an army with banners (S of S 6:4).  We are victorious, yet only as he is victorious.  He reigns from heaven as the wounded Lamb on the Throne.  As we follow him he gives us his song, the song of the Lamb.  The more we worship the Lamb, the more we will find the courage to suffer with him so that we may also reign with him.

We want to encourage you to follow through the decision you made.  The Lord will guide you specifically as you wait on him for direction.  Below are some mission movements that we work closely with, so that you have somewhere to start as you enquire of the Lord.
